  Legal Aid refused me over a rigid eligability criteria that is a disgrace under certain circumstances, thus, inadvertantly inflicting suffering without compassion. With nowhere to turn, this service has been extremely valuable to me. Without volunteer solicitors, there would be no hope. One star lost due to small time allocation blocks being less helpful, thus prolonging urgent legal matters. Whilst promoting self-help, knowledge and capacity of an individual can have limits, so this service endeavours to educate clients. 30mins a week is still not enough, nor is the number of volunteer solicitors. The other party to the matter can just waltz into Legal Aid, get funding and have a solicitor served on a platter, including during Court attendance. It's a cruel, inhumane system, particularly upon Fathers, so I'm greatful for the free time received by this service. It's really being loaded upon due to our under-funded State Government services that indiscriminately kick the vunerable to the curb, thus, inadvertantly inflicts emotional abuse upon Children. So Hoorah volunteers! Thank-you. More solicitors should give back to communities like these people so time is not so restrictive. If you're a doctor, do you drive past a severe traffic incident? Just because people aren't visibly wounded does not mean they don't need help! These solicitors recognise the need for help and humanity issues surrounding lack of legal support. I recognise their funding plight. Donate if you are able please.

  I had some really difficult legal issues. They couldn't tell me what I wanted to hear, but told me what I needed to hear and how to go about it. Once I had done my bit, they gave me further advice so I could proceed. Thank you for that and the best thing of all is that the advice was sound and the service is free to anyone in the community, so no bill for legal advice. They can be very busy, so get in early to be seen sooner.

  Free legal advice and service . Not sure if they are going to be staying , as they are talking about the government shutting them down at the end of the financial year .
